Yellowknife Highways & Freeways
The principal route into the NWT, the Mackenzie Highway (Highway 1) runs from Grimshaw, Alberta (Highway 35, AB) and official ends at Wrigley, NWT. Often called the waterfall highway, this route passes many falls along the way including the Louise Falls and Lady Evelyn.
Connecting Yellowknife to Tibbitt Lake, the Ingraham Trail (Highway 4) features a number of recreational areas along its route including Cameron River Falls and Reid Lake Park.
Known as the Frontier Trail, the Yellowknife Highway (Highway 3) connects Yellowknife with the Mackenzie Highway.
