Yellowknife Highways & Freeways
The principal route into the NWT, the Mackenzie Highway (Highway 1) runs from Grimshaw, Alberta (Highway 35, AB) and official ends at Wrigley, NWT. Often called the waterfall highway, this route passes many falls along the way including the Louise Falls and Lady Evelyn.
Known as the Frontier Trail, the Yellowknife Highway (Highway 3) connects Yellowknife with the Mackenzie Highway.
Hay River Highway
The shortest highway in the NWT, the Hay River Highway (Highway 2) connects Hay River to the junction of Highway 1 at Enterprise.
